Do you have a post-crash survival story to tell?

AOPA’s Air Safety Institute is looking to speak to pilots who have experienced a wilderness crash landing that required survival before rescue, for a new educational video series set to launch in early 2026.

Alternatively, if you do search and rescue work and you’ve been on a mission where you have responded to aviators in distress, we’d also love to hear from you.

The stories we collect will supplement the learning materials and interviews with experts by providing real-world context to the content, and how to put theory into practice.

The Air Safety Institute’s mission is to make general aviation safer and to help pilots make better decisions. Our safety content is available free of charge to anyone who is interested.

If you have a story to tell that others can learn from, please get in touch with us via email or online.
