AI comes to Sporty's
Training courses enhanced by aviation intelligence
Sporty’s Aviation Intelligence includes two AI-powered learning tools: ChatDPE to simulate the oral exam portion of a practical test with a designated pilot examiner, and ChatFAR to easily find and better understand federal aviation regulations.
Open a ChatDPE session within a Sporty’s course and you’ll be asked 10 questions across all sections of the airman certification standards. Your open-ended answer will be critiqued for accuracy to gauge your readiness for the oral exam. If your answer is wrong or incomplete, you’ll learn more about the topic and receive feedback on how to better answer the question. It feels a lot like having an online chat session with an actual DPE.
Unlike AI-powered features commonly found on the internet, ChatDPE only curates content found within Sporty’s courses—so you can be confident the answers are complete and accurate.
ChatFAR makes finding and understanding the regulations much easier. Simply enter any question related to pilot operations or flight training, and ChatFAR provides the FAR where you can read the full regulation, explains the applicable regulation in plain English, and provides a scenario that puts the regulation in context.
Sporty’s Aviation Intelligence was released in October 2024. “This is version 1.0,” said Sporty’s Senior Vice President Bret Koebbe. “We have a lot of bigger plans. This is us learning, and also getting feedback from students in the process.”
