The Shelbyville, Kentucky-based nonprofit organization will accept applications postmarked by May 1 for scholarships to be awarded for this year’s fall semester. The awards will range between $1,000 and $5,000, based on the needs of the applicant. At least two scholarships are awarded annually.

According to the foundation’s scholarship application instructions, each application submission must include a completed International Cessna 190/195 Foundation Scholarship Application Form and printed transcripts from all high schools, colleges, flight, or trade schools verifying grade point averages.

The applicant’s submission also should include a 500-word, typed descriptive essay that details the training for which you need assistance; your aviation history and goals; how the scholarship will help you achieve your goals; what you have done for yourself to achieve your goals; where you see yourself in five and 10 years; where and when you will obtain and complete your training; any previous educational scholarships, awards, and honors; your present financial need; and your professional resume.

Please include three references, at least one of which is an aviation or aeronautical professional, as well as (if applicable) copies of all aviation licenses, your medical certificate, and the last three pages of your pilot logbook.

Selection criteria will include consideration of an applicant’s attitude toward self and others; commitment to success; dedication to career; financial need; and previous achievements.

Please email your complete application set or send it by mail to International Cessna 190/195 Foundation, Inc. c/o 5920 Eminence Pike, Shelbyville, KY 40065. For more information, contact Dr. Mark Kellum.
