NBAA convention expands owner/single-pilot programming

The National Business Aviation Association will debut the owner/single-pilot pavilion during its Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition scheduled for October 12 through 14 in Las Vegas.

The pavilion, which will be located at the outdoor aircraft display at Henderson Executive Airport, will be open on October 12 and 13 and serve as a hub for single-pilot turboprop and jet operators to network and participate in educational programs.

“Owner-pilots are not just a key part of the business aviation community: they’re innovators, thought leaders and groundbreaking entrepreneurs,” said Andrew Broom, NBAA senior vice president for strategy, marketing, and innovation. “This pavilion is more than just a place to gather—it’s a new platform for fostering deeply shared peer connections, to everyone’s benefit. We’re pleased to partner with the owner-pilot groups on this exciting new initiative.”

As of September 29, pavilion presenters include aircraft manufacturers Textron Aviation, Daher, and Embraer; engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada; in-flight communication company Smartsky Networks; maintenance tracking and digital aircraft records company SierraTrax; and Astronaut Hall of Fame member and NBAA board member Charlie Precourt. The pavilion will also showcase owner pilot associations.

The owner/single-pilot pavilion programming expands the educational offerings that NBAA has traditionally offered for that group. Historically, the day before the convention kicks off, NBAA hosts a Single-Pilot Safety Standdown. That tradition will continue with the 2021 standdown on October 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room W206 of the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall. In addition, NBAA will host a National Safety Forum on October 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room W232 at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall.
