Paint restoration system claims to shine up older aircraft

A four-step kit can help bring new life to tired paint jobs, its inventor said.

The SUPERBIRD paint restoration system helps to restore color and shine to faded aircraft paint, owner Jim Hall said.

Aircraft owners apply a dirt, grime, and black streak remover, followed by the paint cleaner. The third step is the application of a paint restorer, followed by a paint sealant.

SUPERBIRD doesn’t claim to be able to restore paint jobs that are too deteriorated because of age, neglect, wear, or the elements, Hall said. But “most legacy aircraft owners can vastly improve the appearance of their airplane’s tired and faded paint” through the system.

The SUPERBIRD system can be ordered from Aircraft Spruce, Amazon, Pilot Shop, or the SUPERBIRD website.
