Lightspeed Aviation offers customers upgrade options

Two months after unveiling its Zulu 3 active noise reduction headset, Lightspeed Aviation is offering its customers options to upgrade their headsets.

In addition to a trade-up program that can reduce the Zulu 3’s purchase price by up to $350, Lightspeed will convert a Zulu 2 to a Zulu 3. The $150 price includes the cable assembly and all new soft goods, plus a two-year warranty extension.

Lightspeed Founder and President Allan Schrader said April 4 that the company has conducted about 100 conversions but has not advertised the program because it needed to obtain additional parts. Conversions are expected to resume during the second half of April, he said.

“My commitment is very deep to our customers and we owe them a debt of gratitude so I’m always trying to figure how to honor them in the next move,” Schrader said.

Lightspeed also is providing active noise reduction for helmet wearers, Schrader said. The installation process includes a quick-disconnect system, Kevlar-reinforced cables, and a three-year warranty.
