AOPA working for you in the Great Lakes region

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has agreed to open many DNR-owned lakes to seaplanes. AOPA had been encouraging the state to open more of its lakes, and AOPA Director of State Government Affairs Jared Esselman took part in the meeting at which the decision was announced. In Wisconsin, Esselman recently met with key legislators from the region as he attended the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee’s Midwest Leadership conference. Esselman also met with Illinois House Majority Leader Lou Lang in an effort to win support for a stopgap measure for the state’s budget in order to allow airport construction projects, which had been halted, to resume again.
