AOPA attends Arizona airports conference

Regional manager speaks on panel

AOPA Western Pacific Regional Manager John Pfeifer attended the annual Arizona Airports Association conference in Yuma April 28 and 29 as part of AOPA’s active engagement in promoting and protecting airports.

Pfeifer gave an update on AOPA’s activities in the state as part of a panel about industry updates and trends. Other sessions included an Arizona Department of Transportation update, the impact of aviation on the Arizona economy, and grants.

Many of the approximately 150 airport managers, local officials, and consultants in attendance at the conference were also AOPA members.

“AOPA has long been involved with Arizona Airports Association and was actively involved in the legislature this year in helping to defeat a bill that threatened to raise fees on many general aviation aircraft,” said Pfeifer. “Airports are vital to AOPA members, and AOPA continues to be actively involved in state airport associations.”
