Greatest Generation Aircraft to offer C-47 rides at Summit

Fort Worth, Texas-based Greatest Generation Aircraft will offer visitors at the upcoming AOPA Aviation Summit’s Airportfest the chance to ride in or even fly a Douglas C-47. The cost for a 15-minute ride is $100, while the cost of a 30-minute piloting experience at the controls of the C-47 (no previous experience required) is $500.

Greatest Generation Aircraft is a nonprofit educational foundation that provides rides on its vintage warbirds to help fund its aircraft restoration efforts. The foundation also operates the DC-3/C-47 Southern Cross and the B-25 Pacific Prowler, and is currently restoring an A-26K Counter Invader, and plans to restore a CG-4A Waco Glider for its next project.
