Calling all teachers to EAA AirVenture on July 30

Teachers are invited to attend a special day at EAA AirVenture on July 30, when Build A Plane and other organizations will show them how to incorporate aviation into their curricula.

During Teachers Day, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, AOPA, Aviation Explorers, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the FAA, the National Air and Space Museum, and others will present ideas on how to expose students to all aspects of aviation, and will provide a variety of free take-home materials. Participants also will receive a free wristband for one day’s attendance at AirVenture. The event will qualify for one graduate credit through Viterbo University.

“We are amazed how many great opportunities are out there to use aviation to engage and motivate kids to learn,” said Build A Plane President Lyn Freeman. “Today’s students respond to real-world applications, and aviation really captures their attention.”

Registration for the event can be completed online. For more information, see the website.
