The FAA, citing navaid coverage limits, is seeking additional comments on the proposed amendment of V-537 between Macon, Ga., and Palm Beach, Fla., which now includes the possible elimination of the airway segment between Macon and Greenville, Fla. Members may submit comments by May 28.
After the comment period on the original airway amendment proposal ended in November 2012, a flight check determined that a radial from the Macon Vortac that was to be used to form an intersection on V-537 after the Moultrie VOR/DME is decommissioned had failed to meet “expanded service volume validation,” the FAA said. As newly proposed, the airway would extend between Palm Beach and Greenville, Fla.
AOPA is reviewing the proposal, and is requesting members’ input before submitting comments to the FAA.
Members may submit comments online or by mail to U.S. Department of Transportation, Docket Operations, M–30, 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, West Building Ground Floor, Room W12–140, Washington, DC 20590–0001.
