Three-time national aerobatic champion Patty Wagstaff will speak July 29 at Build a Plane’s 2014 Teachers’ Day event during EAA AirVenture.
Teachers’ Day is a free, annual event that invites teachers to examine ways to use aviation to motivate children to learn science, math, engineering, and technology. Sponsored by the nonprofit Build a Plane, the event includes a series of presentations by representatives from AOPA, Aviation Explorers, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the FAA, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, Honeywell, the National Air & Space Museum, and more.
Build a Plane seeks to give young people a chance to build airplanes in school. The organization has placed more than 200 general aviation aircraft in schools across the United States since 2003.
Participants who register and participate in Teachers’ Day will receive free lunch, free parking, and free admittance to EAA AirVenture. For more information, see the website, or contact Build a Plane Executive Director Debbie Phillips at 505/980-5915.
