Attention flight training professionals, flying club managers, and industry innovators or leaders: Join the AOPA Center to Advance the Pilot Community for its fourth annual Flight Training and Pilot Community Summit. The event will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Fort Worth, Texas, the day before the AOPA Aviation Summit, Oct.10 through 12.
The “Summit before the Summit” will focus on the AOPA flying clubs initiative, excellence in flight training, research related to lapsed and rusty pilots, and intensive conversations with leading aviation innovators, led by the center’s Senior Vice President Adam Smith.
Attendees will be the first to hear of a national study on lapsed pilots about why they left aviation and if there’s hope of bringing them back. There will be presenters from inside and outside the aviation industry offering fresh ideas, including OpenAirplane, SocialFlight, CloudAhoy, and the Aviation Access Project.
The center will make a major new program announcement and offer details of how to become involved. Participants can also hear from new AOPA President Mark Baker, network with industry leaders, and honor the winners of the 2013 Flight Training Excellence Awards.
The event is open to active flight training professionals, flying club managers and officers, and aviation industry leaders, and space is limited. But if you think you can benefit by attending, AOPA asks that you register online by Friday, Oct. 4.
